During his tour of Canada's Maritime Provinces, I was honoured to host a conversation with People's Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier at my home in New Brunswick.
Maxime is perhaps the only Western politician calling for peace and prosperity in Ukraine and asks that the two warring parties continue negotiations to end the conflict.
We also talked about the effectiveness of Canada's Senate in revoking the Emergencies Act, the defunding of the CBC and an end to all subsidies to media including advertising funds, the irrationality of Justin Trudeau's and Jagmeet Singh's measures on travel for those not "vaccinated," and the prospect for the publishing of his book "Doing Politics Differently."
I have spoken with Maxime on many occasions and I've spoken with him about the Ukraine vs Russia war. I am in agreement with him on many points regarding this war but I am saddened to hear him call Putin a dictator and a murderer because Putin is neither of those things. Putin isn't a reincarnation of Stalin or Lenin. There is no shame in being pro Putin. You can't say someone is wrong because he's Russian which is what the West is saying. Putin can be right and he is right. We should say that without shame. The U.S. and NATO are wrong. I am disappointed that Maxime doesn't go further in his criticism of NATO and call for NATO's dissolution or at least for Canada to pull out of NATO because NATO has no longer any reason to exist without the Warsaw Pact.
Russia cannot negotiate with the West because the West has broken every written and spoken promise that it has made. We now have Merkel and Hollande on the record as stating the Minsk Accords, which Russia, Germany, France signed, weren't meant to avert war between Russia and the West but to give Ukraine time to build up is war machine under Western guidance so that Ukraine could be used to fight a war with Russia.
This war will end only when the West wants it to end. The West has plans to prolong this war as long as it takes for Ukraine to win, for Putin to be ousted and for Russia to be sufficiently weakened enough to satisfy the West that Russia is no longer a threat. In the end the West has made it clear that its ultimate goal is the destruction of the Russia Federation and that isn't a legal justification to conduct any war if you believe that the countries of the world are all equally sovereign as stated in the U.N. Charter. Russia cannot negotiate with people who want to abolish it in its current configuration. This war is solely the fault of the West end of story. Russia is acting in legitimate self defense and the defense of Russian speaking people of Ukraine which is Russian territory. Ukraine's secession from Russia doesn't extinguish Ukraine's history as being founded by the people of the Russ.
There is no room for any negotiations because of the U.S. and its cowardly allies who refuse to call the U.S. on its Russian phobia. NATO and the E.U. are vassals of the U.S. NATO isn't an alliance it is a U.S. empire and the members of NATO have no voice in NATO if they oppose the U.S. The connection that the U.S. has been able to forge between NATO and the E.U. has completed the forging of the E.U. into a totalitarian copy of the Politburo of the USSR.
